Maria Bernatska and Yuliia Strypa have been appointed as her deputies.
Yana Mudryk has been serving on the board of the UBA Students’ League — the youth branch of the Ukrainian Bar Association — since 2021. Together with the newly elected team, she plans to focus on optimizing the League’s internal processes, expanding mentorship programs with the involvement of alumni, formalizing internal ethical standards, introducing a feedback mechanism for all members, and enhancing the League’s established initiatives.
"The League is not just another line on a résumé. It truly shapes your entire student experience. This organization has given me so much — connections, knowledge, and the freedom to make mistakes. It’s what you wake up thinking about, and what’s on your mind before you fall asleep. Now it’s time to give back — by investing twice as much energy and building on what we’ve already achieved. The League is about the sense of community that surrounds you — strong, conscious, and engaged. Four years ago, it was simply ‘why not?’; today, it’s a deliberate, thoughtful choice," said Yana Mudryk, Junior Associate at Ario Law Firm.
It is worth noting that the UBA Students’ League is one of the largest student-led organizations in Ukraine, bringing together nearly 2,000 law students from more than 100 top law schools, with 26 regional branches across the country. The League’s mission is to foster the development of Ukraine’s future legal elite.
Each year, the organization hosts dozens of educational events, networking initiatives, and social, cultural, and charitable projects. Its members actively contribute to the reform of legal education in Ukraine, while also striving to promote the rule of law, raise public legal awareness, and strengthen Ukraine’s democratic and legal institutions.
"These days, there’s no shortage of complaints about so-called ‘Gen Z’ — that they’re unwilling to work hard, always chasing work-life balance and quick wins. But what we see in the young people joining our firm tells quite a different story," said Yevhen Hrushovets, Partner at Ario Law Firm and mentor to Yana Mudryk. "Yana, in particular, is genuinely passionate about what she does. She strikes a natural balance between her studies, professional responsibilities, and her role on the board of the UBA Students’ League. It’s inspiring — and it gives us real confidence in the future of our profession. We are proud to congratulate our colleague on her new and important position as Head of the UBA Students’ League."
