Anna Zubar works in ARIO’s criminal law practice and is involved in complex white-collar crime, anti-corruption and business defence matters.

At ARIO, Anna assists with the preparation of legal positions and procedural documents, evidence analysis and support in criminal proceedings, including matters with an international element.

One of the notable matters she has worked on involved a case in which the competent French authorities refused to extradite a Ukrainian national. Anna contributed to the defence investigation, including the collection and organisation of evidence, which became an important part of the defence strategy.

ARIO made an exception to its internal policy of not appointing junior associates before they complete a master’s degree. The decision reflected Anna’s actual level of work, which had already gone beyond the standard responsibilities of a legal assistant.

Anna is also a regular participant in professional moot courts, competitions and legal simulations in criminal law, anti-corruption law and judicial ethics. Her experience includes participation in the All-Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Moot Courts, the Anti-Corruption Quest, Criminal Law Games, Studlab for Justice and DeJuRe moot courts on judicial ethics.

Anna has been with ARIO since 2024. She joined the firm as an intern in January 2024 and moved to the Criminal Defence Department in September 2024.

From 2023 to 2025, Anna worked as a legal consultant on the Legal Clinic project run by the Khid Yurystiv charitable foundation, advising volunteers, military personnel, charities and civil society organisations.

She also completed an internship with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and worked as an intern to a Member of Parliament of Ukraine.

Anna graduated from the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a Bachelor’s degree in International Law in 2025.

She is currently studying at the Prosecutor’s Office Faculty of Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University.
